Privacy Policy
Introduction
Jurat is built on a foundation of privacy. We understand that the data you store here—evidence, journals, and financial records—is deeply sensitive. Many of our users are navigating high-conflict situations where privacy is not just a preference, but a necessity for safety.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to protect it. We are committed to being transparent and earning your trust.
Data We Collect
1. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect the email address you provide for authentication purposes. This allows you to securely access your data across devices.
2. Usage Data
We collect anonymized logs about how you interact with the app, such as which features you use most frequently and any errors you encounter. This data helps us improve Jurat and fix bugs.
3. User Content
You may upload or create content within Jurat, including photos, audio recordings, journal entries, financial records, and calendar events. Your evidence files are encrypted. Jurat employees do not access your specific evidence files for marketing or business purposes. Your content belongs to you.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: Storing and syncing your evidence, journals, and financial data across your devices.
- To Detect and Fix Bugs: Analyzing anonymized usage logs to identify and resolve technical issues.
- To Improve Security: Monitoring for unauthorized access attempts and enhancing our encryption protocols.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We do not use your evidence content for any purpose other than providing you with the Jurat service.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active Jurat account. You have full control over your information:
- You can delete individual evidence records, journal entries, and other content at any time within the app.
- You can request full account deletion via the App Settings > Delete All Data feature. This will permanently remove all of your data from our servers.
Upon account deletion, your data is purged from our active systems. Some anonymized, aggregated data (such as total usage statistics) may be retained, but this data cannot be used to identify you.
Third-Party Services
Jurat uses trusted, industry-leading third-party infrastructure to provide a secure and reliable service:
- Supabase: For secure database hosting and authentication.
- RevenueCat: For managing in-app subscriptions across iOS and Android.
These services are bound by their own privacy policies and are contractually obligated to protect your data. We do not share your data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third parties whose primary business is monetizing user information.
Security
We employ robust security measures, including end-to-end encryption for sensitive content, to protect your data from unauthorized access. Our team regularly reviews and updates our security practices to address emerging threats.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. Continued use of Jurat after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
